1996 Season Highlights

 

·         Finished season with a five game win streak

·         Went 12-3-1 over the last 16 games

·         Out-scored opponents: 89-20

·         Of the last 20 goals surrendered, four were penalty kicks

·         Of the 89 goals scored, only 1 was a penalty kick

·         Goalkeepers recorded 9 shut-out victories in 1996

·         In losses to Cabrini and Salisbury State, FSU’s starting keeper was injured

·         In two losses to Cabrini, Frostburg was out-scored 5-0…. Three of the goals were PKs

 

·         Strongest Games:        2-1 OT win over St.Mary’s (MD) College

                                                                        2-2 tie vs. Western Maryland College

 

           Leading Scorer:                   Danielle Picker- 21 goal, 7 assists

 

The FSU women’s soccer program has established a winning tradition in the first three years of varsity soccer. The program has seen nothing but success since taking the field for the first time in 1994. With a number of players returning, the Lady ‘Cats will be looking to post their fourth straight winning campaign in 1997. The program finished with a 12-5-1 record in 1996.
