Frostburg State University's Women's Soccer Program has
experienced success in every year of it's exisitence. Every player who has come through this program has never had to experience
a losing season. How impressive is that?
In the first year of conference play (1997), Frostburg ended it's
season as AMCC Tournament Runner-Up to champion Penn State Behrend who won the conference title for the next four season (1997-2000).
In 2001, the Bobcats found their revenge and captured that long awaited AMCC Tournament Championhip. Along with a conference
title FSU players found themselves in the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time but suffered a dismal 7-0
loss to Messiah. The following year, 2002, FSU continued it's winning ways and once again captured the AMCC Title and another
berth in the NCAA Tournament. 2003 was a record-setting season for the Bobcats, it was the first time in the program's history
that Frostburg swept the conference. The team went 6-0 in conference matches, captured their third straight AMCC title, received
a bid to the NCAA tournament for the third season, and for the first time Frostburg won a first round game versus Westminster
College 3-2 advancing them to the 2nd round. The 2003 season ended with defeat but not without a fight as the players fought
to a 1-0 loss against U. of Scranton who was the #2 ranked team in Division III soccer. The 2004 season was questionably the
most successful season of the program's history. The team won the conference title for the fourth year in a row receiving
an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and once again faced Westminster College, once again coming out on top this time in
PKs. The team advanced to the second round for the 2nd year in a row but again they suffered defeat in a 2-1 loss to #24 ranked
Christopher Newport. The Bobcats finished the 2004 season with a 14-3-3 record, the best over-all record and the least
amount of losses suffered in history, they allowed only 14 goals in 20 matches, just 2 of them in conference play, and 8 players
were selected to All-AMCC teams as well as the Player of the Year and Coach of the Year for the second straight season.
