1998 Season Highlights

The Lady Bobcats add another winning season to the record books for the fifth straight year. FSU finished the year with a 11-6 over-all record and they posted a 3-1 AMCC record.  The women’s team finished in second place in the regular season to send them to the conference tournament where they suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to La Roche in the semi-finals. Due to their impressive season the Lady ‘Cats were invited and accepted a first-time bid to participate in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Tournament. Frostburg’s first round opponent was #1 seed and host, Muhlenberg. Muhlenberg pulled out a 5-1 hard fought battle over Frostburg.

To end the season, senior forward Erin Forbes finished as the top scorer for Frostburg with 19 goals and 2 assists and  freshman forward Amy Foote finished second with 10 goals and three assists along with a selection to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All Mid-Atlantic Soccer Team and a Third Team All-Region selection. Frostburg’s lone goalkeeper for the ’98 campaign, sophomore Jessica Richardson, recorded 6 shutouts and 1.43 goals against average.
